Elmien Toerien

Elmien Toerien graduated from the University of the Northwest with a BCom Honours degree in Industrial Psychology. She registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Psychometrist in 2004. Since then, she has gained extensive experience in the Industrial Psychology field dealing with projects across corporate companies in the transport, security, financial, mining and construction industries.

Amongst others, Elmien has managed projects involving the assessment of thousands of candidates for purposes of selection, placement, leadership development and succession planning. Over the past decade, she has also directly been involved in the training and/or delivery of Cognadev products, including the job analysis system (CCM), cognitive assessment simulations (CPP and LOI), the delivery platform (Skylab) and volume assessment platform (Cliquidity). In addition, she has conducted product- and solution-related training to HR professionals from a large number of organisations.

In 2019 she was appointed as the CEO of Cognadev (SA) and has since been involved in strategy formulation and the roll-out of solution-based systems focusing on organisational- and system efficiencies in order to maintain competitive advantage.

Her role also includes liaising with global clients to determine their talent needs, suggest interventions as well as manage ongoing client relationships.
